[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyukjong) is receiving positive responses by introducing the interactive communication broadcast “My GU Television,” which emphasizes laughter and fun to overcome COVID-19.
The Gwangju University University Innovation Support Project Group announced on the 14th that “My GU Television” was conducted through the school’s YouTube channel from the 10th to the 12th.
“My GU Television” is a live streaming real-time broadcast program prepared to strengthen communication between the school and students, and among students themselves, as non-face-to-face classes have been prolonged due to the impact of COVID-19, and to alleviate “coronablue” (a newly coined term combining COVID-19 and the feeling of depression).
The live broadcast, enhanced with real-time comments and fun, received great responses from participating students.
The broadcast, conducted over three sessions, included an internet meme (MEME) online quiz contest, the Beauty Department’s “Beauty’s Salon,” and the Hotel Food and Beverage Cooking Department’s “Cocktail Love.”
The internet meme (MEME) online quiz contest, hosted by Professor Lim Taehyung, was conducted by presenting questions about internet terms and newly coined words for participants to answer, with over 60 students participating and sharing various prizes.
“Beauty’s Salon,” which had over 100 simultaneous viewers even before it started, was an event hosted by professors and students of the Beauty Department, introducing skin care methods, hair styling secrets, and makeup tips. In particular, skin care secrets using easily accessible ingredients such as fruits at home attracted great interest.
The final day’s broadcast, “Cocktail Love,” featured professors and students from the Hotel Food and Beverage Cooking Department explaining cocktail recipes that can be enjoyed at home and had a communication session with participating students.
