Iksan City Praised for Non-Discriminatory Policy Providing '100,000 Won Per Person' to Permanent Residents in the Area
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyeong] Iksan City announced that it will provide disaster basic income to 400 permanent residents in the area, and applications will be accepted at the Eup/Myeon/Dong administrative welfare centers from the 15th of this month to the 14th of next month.
The payment method is the same as before, charging 100,000 KRW per person onto an anonymous prepaid card.
For applications, applicants must bring the application form and foreigner registration card when applying in person, and for proxy applications, the application form (including a power of attorney) and identification cards of both the principal and the proxy are required.
The anonymous prepaid cards received on-site can be used at affiliated stores within Iksan City until July 31, and unused amounts will not be refunded.
Iksan City is receiving favorable reviews for its non-discriminatory policy by providing disaster basic income to permanent residents following marriage immigrants to overcome the social disaster caused by COVID-19.
Hong, a permanent resident of Chinese nationality, said, "Having lived in Iksan for over 70 years and paying taxes just like the citizens, I was disappointed not to receive the previous disaster basic income, but I am happy and grateful to be treated equally this time."
