ADT Caps, Pilot Operation of Patrol Service Using Autonomous Flight Drones
Dankuk University Cheonan Campus Initiates Autonomous Flight Drone-Based Security System Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Security specialist ADT Caps (CEO Park Jin-hyo) announced on the 11th that it will pilot an autonomous flight drone patrol service at Dankook University Cheonan Campus.
The autonomous flight drone patrol service introduced by ADT Caps is an unmanned security solution where the drone autonomously takes off, lands, and charges itself, patrols designated areas, and collects data. Without any pilot, the drone independently captures and analyzes video, and in case of anomaly detection, it links with CCTV to send emergency signals and request dispatch, functioning as an integrated control system.
This unmanned security patrol service piloted at Dankook University Cheonan Campus is also notable as a case of applying autonomous flight drones to an actual customer site. ADT Caps set high-risk areas prone to accidents or crimes and key facilities requiring focused observation as patrol zones to provide effective patrol services.
The autonomous flight drones are useful for easily inspecting roofs, rooftops, and solar power structures that are difficult to check frequently, and are equipped with fire detection and gas leak monitoring functions through thermal cameras. The patrol area was also expanded to CCTV blind spots within the campus. It is possible to prevent crimes and accidents in a wider range of areas including dark and secluded back areas of campus buildings not previously included in security zones, bus stops used by students located outside the school, as well as reservoirs on the outskirts of the school and nearby parking lots. ADT Caps expects to significantly reduce manpower and time required for patrols through drones while being able to detect emergencies most quickly and respond initially.

ADT Caps plans to build various types of drone services from small drones to autonomous flight drones and apply them considering the customer's site type and security situation. An ADT Caps official said, "The autonomous flight drone patrol service will be the cornerstone of the security industry transforming from human-based to technology-based," adding, "ADT Caps will continue to develop and advance autonomous flight drone services."
