Newlyweds Heading to Jeju... June 'Sweet Honeymoon' Bookings Increase 5 Times Compared to March
Jeju Shilla Hotel Launches 'Romantic Honeymoon' Package
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] In the second half of the year, the demand for honeymoons heading to Jeju Island has surged. In particular, a new trend is emerging where couples are opting for a proper honeymoon rather than a temporary one.
On the 11th, Jeju Shilla Hotel compiled the June suite honeymoon package reservations and found that the number was five times higher than the sales in March. Among these, guests staying for three nights or more accounted for 45% of the total.
A representative of Jeju Shilla Hotel explained, "In March, before the overseas COVID-19 situation worsened, many postponed their planned overseas honeymoons to the second half of the year and, feeling disappointed, took short couple trips to domestic resorts. During that time, the proportion of honeymoon package users staying for one night and more than one night was similar. However, recently, as the COVID-19 situation has prolonged and overseas travel has become difficult, prospective newlyweds are choosing Jeju Island for their full honeymoon, resulting in an increase in long-term stays of three nights or more."
Accordingly, Jeju Shilla Hotel has launched a private and luxurious 'Romantic Honeymoon' package rather than a simple couple trip. Upon arrival at Jeju Airport, a luxury sedan and driver await, allowing guests to travel comfortably to the hotel. After arriving at the hotel, guests can enjoy 'express check-in' directly to their rooms without waiting at the front desk. When leaving, guests can also take a luxury sedan to the airport after check-out.
Upon entering the room, guests are greeted with an ocean view. The Romantic Honeymoon package offers the 'Pacific Deluxe' room, loved by honeymooners for its sophisticated interior in blue, beige, and white tones, and the ability to enjoy the sunset from the bedroom and the jacuzzi in the bathroom. There are only 10 Pacific Deluxe rooms at Jeju Shilla Hotel, and they come with a honeymoon special fruit platter and a bottle of red wine, 'Villa Saint Gri Cabernet Sauvignon,' which carries a message wishing for a new start and happiness.
During the day, guests can relax at the exotic adult pool. The package also includes the 'Petit Cabana' benefit, allowing guests to leisurely swim, rest on the cabana bed, or lie on the private water bed to enjoy tanning. In the evening, after dining at the Mediterranean-style live kitchen, The Parkview, guests can enjoy a 15% discount on all Guerlain Spa programs, a tradition spanning 192 years, as part of the package benefits.
For stays of two nights or more, guests can also use the 'Suite Sumbi Photo' service, which takes photos with a 'Newtro' (a new interpretation of retro) concept. Using simple props such as bouquets, veils, and boutonnieres prepared in the banquet hall, guests can feel like honeymooners from the 1980s when couples used to honeymoon in Jeju Island. This service is not available from July 29 to 31. Additionally, a 'Sunset Yacht Experience' is offered, allowing guests to enjoy the coastal scenery blended with beautiful evening sunsets. Depending on the day, this may be replaced with a horseback riding experience.

For stays of three nights or more, meals are also provided at the 'Glamping Village' set up in the hotel garden. The Glamping Village is a luxury camping zone in the hotel garden. Inside the cabana-style spacious and cozy tents, there are large tables and sofas, and the romantic space is enhanced with a fireplace decoration. The meal starts with Jeju apple mango gazpacho and Korean beef brisket salad, followed by various BBQ dishes including lobster and Jeju black pork. Especially at the end of the meal, the chef personally visits the tent to create and serve a live dessert with a message requested by the guest right before their eyes.
