[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongju City announced on the 10th that it achieved the greatest number of selections in the province with 25 cases (1.067 billion KRW) in the subsidy project category, including 'Healing and Recovery Hanok Accommodation Experience,' and 7 cases (1.87 billion KRW) in the loan project category in the public contest conducted by Gyeongbuk Province in 2020 as part of the Tourism Promotion Fund support project.
The public contest for the Tourism Promotion Fund support project, implemented by Gyeongbuk Province since last year based on contributions from 23 cities and counties, was conducted separately into subsidy projects and loan projects.
The subsidy projects provide support up to 100 million KRW for discovering cultural tourism resources and storytelling, developing experiential tourism or hidden attraction-linked tourism content programs, supporting the production, performance, and distribution of cultural and artistic creations, among others.
The main targets of the loan projects include expansion of tourist hotels and renovation of Hanok experience facilities. Selected tourism businesses will receive interest-free loans up to 500 million KRW by the end of this year.
