Lotte Chemical Conducts 'Plastic Circular Economy Waste PET Bottle Collection' Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Lotte Chemical held a meaningful event on the 5th in celebration of 'Environment Day' to raise awareness about plastic resource circulation.
Last Friday and this morning, Lotte Chemical conducted a 'Used PET Bottle Collection Campaign' targeting approximately 1,000 general visitors at Seoul Lotte World Mall.
At the entrance of Lotte World Mall, they provided bottled water and guided participants to remove the labels from used PET bottles and dispose of them in collection bins installed in the mall, along with education on proper waste separation.
Along with Lotte Group's #1Day1Green campaign activities that began on the 5th, the event added significance by encouraging participation in virtuous cycle activities to reduce plastic environmental issues through small daily actions.
Kim Kyo-hyun, CEO of Lotte Chemical, personally visited the site to experience separating and disposing of used PET bottles, stating, "We will contribute to creating a culture of proper resource use and recycling, and continue our efforts to build an environment for plastic circulation."

Since the signing ceremony of the plastic circular economy 'Project LOOP' in March this year, Lotte Chemical has installed 'Nephron,' a used PET bottle collection device, at six locations including Lotte World Mall and Lotte World, and is operating a pilot program aiming to collect 10 tons of used PET bottles by July this year.
