Seoul Asan Hospital 60s Confirmed Patient Visit "COVID-19 Tests Planned for Contacted Staff" (Update)
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 60s who visited Seoul Asan Medical Center has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The hospital plans to close and disinfect certain facilities and conduct COVID-19 tests on staff members who had contact with the patient.
On the 5th, Seoul Asan Medical Center announced on its website that Mr. A (69), a resident of Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, visited the hospital around 7 a.m. on the 4th after undergoing a COVID-19 diagnostic test at the Gangbuk-gu Public Health Center screening clinic.
According to the hospital, at around 9:30 a.m. that day, the Gangbuk-gu Public Health Center notified Seoul Asan Medical Center of the patient’s confirmed COVID-19 status. At that time, Mr. A had already received outpatient treatment and testing at the hospital and left.
Seoul Asan Medical Center stated that upon receiving the confirmation, it immediately closed and disinfected the blood collection room on the first floor of the new building, the electrocardiogram room on the second floor of the east building, and the Geumgangsan restaurant in the basement level 1 of the east building.

Furthermore, the hospital is working with health authorities to identify the male patient and other patients and guardians whose paths overlapped within the hospital, and plans to internally conduct COVID-19 tests on hospital staff suspected of contact.
