Suncheon Fire Station Installs Fire Extinguisher Boxes in Village Alleys Difficult for Fire Truck Access
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon Fire Station (Chief Gu Cheon-hoe) installed fire extinguisher boxes in alleyways within its jurisdiction as part of spring fire safety measures.
The 'Alleyway Fire Extinguisher Box' is intended to enable residents to actively respond to the early stages of a fire by installing fire extinguisher boxes (powder extinguishers) in areas where fire trucks have difficulty accessing and where fire hydrants are not installed.
The locations were selected with prior consent from residents, installing 13 fire extinguisher boxes (including 26 extinguishers) in six places such as Gusang Village, in spots highly visible to residents. Fire extinguisher usage and other fire safety equipment instructions were provided to village residents, and the local center will continue to manage them going forward.
