30,000 Won Worth Per Person Including Ganghwa Eco-Friendly Rice
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Metropolitan City and the City Office of Education will deliver 'Agricultural Product Health Packages' to the homes of all elementary, middle, and high school students who missed school meals due to the delay in school openings caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation starting in June.
According to the city on the 1st, the Agricultural Product Health Package is worth about 30,000 KRW per student and consists of a total of 10kg, including 3kg of Ganghwa eco-friendly rice, 5kg of regular rice, and 2kg of glutinous rice.
Ganghwa eco-friendly rice is produced without or with minimal use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, feed additives, etc., and its safety is certified by the government.
The support for the Agricultural Product Health Package aims to reduce the damage to farmers caused by the suspension of school meals and to provide safe food to students and parents. A budget of 10.5 billion KRW from the free meal budget shared by Incheon City, the City Office of Education, and 10 districts/counties will be used.
