Mudeungsan Park Office Implements 'Civil Petition Guardian System'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Mudeungsan National Park Office (Director Jeong Yongsang) and the Mudeungsan National Park Eastern Office (Director Joo Hongjun) of the Korea National Park Service announced on the 27th that starting next month, they will implement the ‘Civil Petition Guardian System’ for complex civil petitions and preliminary inquiries related to permits within the national park.
The Civil Petition Guardian System designates an employee with relevant work experience as a guardian to guide or assist the petitioner throughout the entire process, from the start to the conclusion of the permit application, which is often perceived as difficult by petitioners.
The civil petition guardian will serve as a helper for petitioners throughout the entire permit application process, including consultation on petition handling methods and procedures, assistance with petition document preparation, guidance on related regulations, and support for petition processing.
The main targeted petitions include permits under the ‘Natural Parks Act’ and approvals for park project implementation.
Applicants can apply for the system when submitting a permit petition under the Natural Parks Act by following the guidance of the permit officer. Once a civil petition guardian is assigned, the applicant will receive guidance on the process and support until the petition is completed.
Meanwhile, for efficient park management, Mudeungsan National Park is managed by two offices dividing the Gwangju area and the Jeonnam areas (Hwasun and Damyang).
