Major Companies Reopen Hiring Doors Through Untact Methods
Preparation for Video Interviews and Online Exams
SK, Lotte, CJ, and Others Open New Graduate Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporters Lim Hye-seon, Lee Seon-ae, Park So-yeon] The door to the job market, which had been closed due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), is opening. Companies have found breakthroughs through non-face-to-face (untact) methods such as 'video interviews' and 'online tests.'
According to the business community on the 27th, Lotte Group will resume its new employee recruitment schedule starting next month. From the 1st of next month, Lotte Group will begin the LTAB (organizational and job suitability test) for selecting new employees for the first half of the year. From the 1st to the 12th, an 'online' organizational suitability diagnosis will be conducted for applicants who pass the document screening by each affiliate. On the 20th, an offline job suitability diagnosis will be held at middle and high schools in Seoul. Previously, Lotte Group started the recruitment process for new employees in the first half of March and completed application submissions by the end of March. Lotte Group will select new employees in 169 fields including sales management, business support, information technology (IT), production management, and research and development across 33 companies in food, tourism, service, distribution, chemical, construction, and manufacturing sectors. Interview schedules will be conducted after monitoring the situation.
CJ Group has also started recruiting new employees for the first half of this year. The publicly recruiting affiliates are CJ CheilJedang, Freshway, ENM, Hanjin Transportation, Olive Young, and Olive Networks, totaling six companies. They are hiring new employees across 30 job positions in these six affiliates, with the application deadline ranging from the 3rd to the 10th of next month. A CJ representative said, "Despite the difficult internal and external environment due to COVID-19, considering the importance of discovering and nurturing future talents, we are conducting first-half recruitment mainly for key affiliates," adding, "We plan to conduct the selection process safely through non-face-to-face interviews and dispersed tests by affiliate."
