Nam-gu, Ulsan announced on the 22nd that the neglected space within the grounds of Cheongsol Elementary School in Daldong has been completed as an eco-friendly learning space and a green resting area for nearby residents through the 'Meditation Forest Creation Project.'
This is the 11th meditation forest created in Nam-gu. The area around the playground, which leads from the school gate to the classroom buildings, has become a forest pathway for students and a walking trail for residents.
This 'Thinking Forest' harmonizes with the existing trees and has 32 roots of 9 species, including cherry trees, providing shade. Additionally, 5,943 roots of 18 species of shrubs and flowers, such as Japanese holly, attract the eyes of passersby.
Seating walls and picnic tables have been arranged in a patchwork style, allowing visitors to enjoy a picturesque rest in the forest. With a project budget of 60 million KRW, the secluded and aging 700㎡ space inside Cheongsol Elementary School has been brightened. The project was designed in January, started construction in April, and was recently completed.
