Seongnam City Conducts Joint Inspection of 144 Academies Employing Native Instructors
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a joint inspection of 144 academies employing native speakers from the 15th to the 22nd, together with the Seongnam Office of Education, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections within the region originating from the Itaewon club.
This is an additional inspection following the on-site checks conducted from March 9 to May 5 on 1,737 academies regarding compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures.
To this end, on the 15th, Seongnam City and the Seongnam Office of Education urgently formed a joint inspection team to focus on checking whether the 144 academies comply with the 'social distancing guidelines.'
Additionally, if academy staff have a history of visiting Itaewon, they will be actively guided to undergo COVID-19 testing.
Earlier, on the 12th, the city sent official letters to the Seongnam Academy Association and the Seongnam Office of Education encouraging them to refrain from visiting Itaewon clubs and to get tested if they have visited.
