Yeonggwang-gun, Promotes 'Various Support Projects' to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 11th that it will promote various support projects to improve the depressed consumer sentiment and stagnant local economy caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
To overcome COVID-19, the county will directly provide a total of 27.6 billion KRW, including 6.9 billion KRW of county funds such as 2.3 billion KRW for Jeonnam-type COVID-19 emergency living expenses, 1.5 billion KRW for government emergency disaster relief funds, and 500 million KRW for public utility support for taxi drivers and small business owners.
To stimulate local consumption, six projects including Jeonnam-type COVID-19 emergency living expenses, support for taxi drivers, and public interest allowances for farmers and fishermen will be paid through the Yeonggwang Sarang Card.
Since the application periods for various support projects are concentrated this month, and there are many support projects with different eligibility criteria and application offices for each project, it is necessary to carefully review them.
First, check the support policies you can receive through the county website, prepare the application dates and documents in advance.
Small business owners or taxi drivers need to prepare documents such as employment verification, sales records, and tax payment details depending on the project, and for the recently confirmed government emergency disaster relief funds, the application dates and offices differ depending on the payment method.
Next, it is convenient to prepare the Yeonggwang Sarang Card in advance.
Since most COVID-19 support projects are paid through the Yeonggwang Sarang Card, preparing the card in advance by visiting all financial institutions except the local post office or the county office’s Investment and Economy Division, or using the mobile app ‘Geu-ri-go’ will enable faster receipt of support funds.
In addition to direct support projects, the county also supports indirect projects such as up to 50% reduction in property tax for participants in the Good Landlord Project, and repayment deferral and maturity extension of existing management stabilization funds for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners affected by COVID-19.
