KT Launches Exclusive Device Insurance 'Galaxy Care' for Samsung Electronics
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT will launch Samsung Electronics' exclusive device insurance 'Galaxy Care' on the 11th for users of various Galaxy series such as Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note10, and Galaxy Z Flip.
Compared to the existing device insurance 'Super Anshim', Galaxy Care enhances customer benefits including ▲reduced deductible ▲strengthened battery replacement compensation ▲extended warranty (EW) ▲free technical consultation for Galaxy series via chatbot. Galaxy Care features a fixed deductible for theft, loss, and damage. The deductible is lower than that of the existing device insurance. ▲Within the compensation limit, damage compensation can be received without limit on the number of times, and ▲in case of loss or theft, a new device of the same or similar model can be provided.
Considering recent mobile phone usage patterns, Galaxy Care has further strengthened the 'battery replacement' compensation benefit. The eligibility for battery replacement, previously available from the 25th month, has been reduced to the 13th month. Customers can visit an AS center to receive a 'Battery Function Degradation Replacement Certificate' and claim insurance compensation, similar to loss and damage cases. The warranty period for camera modules, vibration motors, speaker modules, etc., provided by the manufacturer for 2 years, has also been extended by 1 year.
Galaxy Care subscribers can also enroll in 'Plus Anshim', which offers an additional week of free rental phone service compared to before. Amid increasing voice phishing damage related to COVID-19, Plus Anshim subscribers will receive an additional free insurance benefit covering financial damages caused by voice phishing, PC hacking, smishing, and pharming, up to a limit of 5 million KRW until June 30. The monthly fee for Plus Anshim is 660 KRW (including VAT).
