[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] A fire that broke out in a drama studio warehouse located in Paju, Gyeonggi Province was extinguished after about 7 hours.
According to the Northern Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 9th, the fire started at around 11:35 PM on the 8th in a drama studio warehouse in Munsan-eup, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Subsequently, 180 personnel and 36 pieces of equipment were deployed, and the fire was extinguished after about 7 hours.
According to the report, the large flames were brought under control at around 1:15 AM on the 9th, approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes after the fire started. Due to the building's structure made of sandwich panels, a significant amount of time was required to clean up the remaining flames. The fire authorities dismantled the sandwich panels one by one while conducting firefighting operations.
Fortunately, since it was late at night, there were no employees inside the building, so no casualties occurred due to the fire.
The fire authorities confirmed that out of the seven warehouse buildings (8,342㎡), two buildings were completely burned down and three buildings were partially damaged. They also estimated the property damage to be about 400 million KRW.
