KB Kookmin Bank and Livem Launch 'Free Phishing Insurance Enrollment Event'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] KB Kookmin Bank's Liiv M announced on the 7th that it will offer free phishing insurance to its subscribers through the end of this year.
Liiv M phishing insurance is a product that compensates for financial losses up to 70% of the damage, with a limit of 10 million KRW each, in case of phone or messenger financial fraud occurring within one year after subscription. Up to 30,000 existing and new customers can participate in the event on a first-come, first-served basis through the Liiv M mobile webpage.
KB Kookmin Bank's Liiv M previously launched a free subscription service for communication expense insurance in April. The communication expense insurance provides benefits that support communication expenses of 100,000 KRW per month for up to one year if a disability of 50% or more occurs due to an accident during the insurance period.

A KB Kookmin Bank official said, "Attempts of voice phishing exploiting the public's anxiety due to COVID-19 have been increasing recently, making prevention and damage relief more important," and added, "We plan to introduce various financial and communication convergence services in the future."
