KT Signs MOU to Innovate AI Parking Infrastructure
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] On the 7th, KT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with parking platform company ParkingCloud to jointly develop next-generation parking services applying AI.
Based on this agreement, KT and ParkingCloud plan to combine KT’s AI technology, which has secured the largest number of 2.3 million Giga Genie subscribers in Korea, with the solutions and know-how of the country’s largest parking platform company to provide drivers with more convenient AI-based parking services.
According to the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on developing AI parking services in five areas: ▲ integration of AI voice recognition technology ▲ network diversification and stabilization through 5G application ▲ vision (video recognition) AI technology application services ▲ next-generation AI kiosk business ▲ innovation in customer center operations based on AI Contact Center (AICC).
Once the AI parking service is applied, parking fee payments, which are currently made via kiosk touch methods, are expected to be requested and completed simply through voice commands. Additionally, by applying video recognition AI technology, more convenient parking services will be developed. The two companies expect the AI parking service, introduced amid growing attention to contactless services due to COVID-19, to receive high approval from drivers.
