China Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases After Labor Day Holiday End
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] On the last day of the Labor Day holiday in China, the number of new COVID-19 cases was limited to 2.
On the 6th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, the number of new COVID-19 cases in China was 2. All were imported cases infected overseas and entered China.
As of the 5th, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China is 82,883. Among them, 4,633 have died and 77,911 have recovered. Currently, only 339 cases remain confirmed and are receiving treatment in hospitals.
There were 20 new asymptomatic infections on the 5th, bringing the total number of asymptomatic infections under medical observation to 903. Asymptomatic infections refer to people who test positive for COVID-19 but do not show specific symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the Greater China region outside mainland China are 1,040 in Hong Kong, 45 in Macao, and 438 in Taiwan, totaling 1,523.
