LG Electronics Installs Giant LED Signage on Teheran-ro, the 'Korean Version of Times Square'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] LG Electronics has installed a high-definition, ultra-large LG LED signage in the outdoor advertising free display zone around Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, which is called the "Korean version of Times Square."
LG Electronics announced on the 3rd that it built outdoor advertising in front of the Parnas Hotel in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu. After constructing a cuboid structure 26 meters high, ultra-large LED signages measuring 12 meters wide and 21.8 meters high were installed on both the front and back sides.
This outdoor advertising is a pole-type advertisement completed through a complex method of building a new structure on the ground and installing LED signages on the front and back, unlike the conventional method of attaching LED signages to building walls.
LG Electronics explained that it was responsible for the entire process, including the design and installation of the ultra-large LED signage, outdoor advertising design, foundation work, and structure fabrication.
To clearly display content even during daytime, LG Electronics supported a brightness of 10,000 nits for the LG LED signage. Additionally, the pixel pitch is 8.3mm, which is the shortest pixel pitch among LED signages installed in the outdoor advertising free display zone in Samseong-dong. The shorter the pixel pitch, the more pixels can be installed in the same area, allowing content to be displayed more vividly.
