Seodaemun-gu Public and Private Children's Center Association Donates 2140kg of 'Love Rice'
Feeding Sites Including Community Child Centers, Senior Welfare Facilities, and Homeless Shelters Reported
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced that the Seodaemun-gu National and Public Daycare Center Association (President Han Jeong-a) recently donated 107 bags of 20kg Love Rice to local children's centers, senior welfare facilities, homeless shelters, and other places, warming the community.
The funds for this donation were collectively raised by the directors, teachers, and staff of the 55 daycare centers affiliated with the association.
In particular, the association added significance by purchasing rice from farms in the Jeonju area, which have been struggling to supply eco-friendly ingredients due to daycare closures caused by COVID-19.
The Love Rice was delivered to child and youth facilities such as Yekkumteo, Songjukwon, Salvation Army Welfare Center, Hanultari within Seodaemun-gu, as well as meal service locations including Hope One-room, Salvation Army Gajaeul Shelter, and Senior Welfare Center.
To facilitate this, the Seodaemun-gu Public Meal Service Center (Director Tak Hyun-bae) provided vehicle support.
Han Jeong-a, President of the Seodaemun-gu National and Public Daycare Center Association, stated, “We prepared the rice donation to meal service facilities with the hope of providing a small help during these difficult times caused by COVID-19.”
