Uniqlo Samjeong Tower Store Opens... Activities to Revitalize the Local Community Underway
Uniqlo Samjeong Tower store employees are taking photos while preparing a tomato giveaway event organized to celebrate the store opening and revitalize the local community.

The ‘Uniqlo Samjeong Tower Store,’ the largest Uniqlo store in the Busan area, is located on the basement first floor of Samjeong Tower, a representative complex shopping mall in Seomyeon, Busan. From the opening day through May 3rd, for four days, all customers who purchase products regardless of the amount will receive 300g of tomatoes (about 3 to 4 pieces) per person on a first-come, first-served basis.
This activity was planned based on a proposal from the store manager of Samjeong Tower Store, who recognized that local farms in Gangseo-gu, Busan, are facing difficulties after the cancellation of the Daejeo Tomato Festival, which had been held for 20 years in the Busan area due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). During this period, Uniqlo plans to procure a total of 600KG of tomatoes from local producers.
Additionally, Uniqlo Samjeong Tower Store plans to continuously carry out activities that can provide practical help to customers and the local community in the future by not only hiring new employees but also assigning staff who have worked for a long time at other Uniqlo stores in Busan and are well acquainted with the Busan area.
Hong Seon-seon, the store manager of Uniqlo Samjeong Tower Store, said, “I am very pleased that employees who have worked for a long time at other Uniqlo stores in Busan have been assigned to Samjeong Tower Store to prepare for the opening and welcome customers together.” She emphasized, “As I am also from Busan, I will work hard to think together about the difficulties of the local community and try to be of some help based on the experience and know-how of working in the Busan area with the staff.” She added, “We will always listen carefully to the voices of customers visiting the store to provide a comfortable and enjoyable shopping experience along with ‘LifeWear’ products of excellent quality, design, and reasonable prices.”

Meanwhile, to commemorate the opening of Samjeong Tower Store, Uniqlo held a signing ceremony for the ‘2020 Clothing Reform Support Campaign for the Disabled’ in the Busan area. The campaign supports customized reform clothing for people with brain lesions who have difficulty using ready-made clothes due to disabilities. This year, the participation area has been expanded to Busan, supporting a total of 8,000 customized clothing items for 800 people with brain lesions and an operating budget of 130 million KRW, totaling 250 million KRW in sponsorship.
