A Total of 648,000 Households Eligible for 'Gyeongnam-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund'... Project Budget Increased by 26.8 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 29th that the number of households eligible for the 'Gyeongnam-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund,' which has been provided since the 23rd to households with income below 100% of the median income (bottom 50% income), has increased to 648,000 households.
The province initially estimated the number of eligible households to be 521,000. This figure was based on the resident registration data from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety as of March this year. However, to accurately calculate households with income below 100% of the median income, verification was conducted using health insurance premium payment data obtained from the National Health Insurance Service, confirming that the eligible households number 648,000.
Accordingly, the total project cost, including operating expenses, increased by 26.8 billion KRW from the initial 176.8 billion KRW to 203.6 billion KRW. The increased project cost will be shared equally between the province and the cities/counties, with the province planning to utilize contingency funds.
As of 6 p.m. on the 28th, 137,000 households, accounting for 21.2% of the eligible households, have received the Gyeongnam-type Emergency Disaster Relief Fund. The total amount disbursed so far is 42.3 billion KRW.
