Support and Development of 'Clean Hotel' in Dong-gu, Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 29th that it is recruiting operators for the 'Clean Hotel' project, which improves existing lodging facilities such as motels into open-type facilities and fosters them as business hotels.
This is to cultivate comfortable and clean open-type lodging facilities that can provide simple breakfast to domestic and international visitors coming to Gwangju for various international events.
Applicants must be lodging businesses with 30 or more rooms that can convert from closed facilities to open facilities, such as removing parking lot partitions and converting reception desks to open types.
The application period is until the 6th of next month, and applications can be submitted by visiting the district office's sanitation department.
Selected businesses will receive 5 million won for facility improvement expenses and will be given incentives such as priority accommodation allocation for tourists during various future events.

Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "I hope that the number of open-type lodging facilities provided to domestic and international tourists will increase significantly," and added, "We will create a Dong-gu that visitors want to return to by providing comfortable accommodations to foreigners and locals visiting Dong-gu."
