Hanan Implements Non-Face-to-Face and Split Recruitment to Prevent COVID-19 Spread... "Announcement in May"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea District Heating Corporation announced on the 29th that it has revamped its recruitment strategy and process to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to alleviate the burden on job seekers.
First, it will move away from the existing large-scale regular recruitment method and divide the number of recruits and recruitment periods by job category. Instead of large-scale recruitment at once, the recruitment cycle will be shortened and the number of recruitment rounds increased.
This decision was made to prevent large numbers of people from gathering at recruitment sites, which increases the risk of infection. The recruitment process will be efficiently managed to ensure that time and costs do not increase due to the divided recruitment.
A non-face-to-face evaluation method will also be introduced to protect applicants and supervisors from infection. Offline personality tests will be replaced with online tests, and personality and job competency interviews will be conducted via video calls to practice social distancing.
Korea District Heating Corporation plans to expand recruitment opportunities by abolishing language score requirements for eligibility this year as well, following last year. This is expected to minimize the damage to applicants amid delays in official language tests due to concerns over the spread of infectious diseases.
Measures have also been prepared to enhance the safety and convenience of job seekers, such as expanding written exams, which were previously held only in the metropolitan area, to local regions.
