Jeonnam Province Marks 100 Days of COVID-19... Encouraging Social Distancing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province marked 100 days since the first domestic confirmed case of COVID-19 on January 20 and has encouraged residents to participate by focusing on the five key rules to prepare for a resurgence following the transition to ‘distancing in daily life.’
According to Jeonnam Province on the 29th, the five key rules are ▲Stay home for 3-4 days if you are sick ▲Maintain a healthy distance of two arm lengths ▲Wash hands for 30 seconds ▲Cough into your sleeve ▲Ventilate and disinfect regularly ▲Keep physical distance but stay close at heart.
The province is preparing detailed guidelines for individuals and groups based on these core rules to facilitate the transition to ‘distancing in daily life’ after Children’s Day on the 5th of next month.
In particular, they plan to form and operate a daily quarantine TF team to ensure a balance between everyday life and quarantine measures.
Furthermore, since the first confirmed case in the province on February 6, a total of 15 patients have been reported so far. This corresponds to 0.8 cases per 100,000 people, the lowest rate nationwide.
So far, high-intensity quarantine measures include ▲Diagnostic tests strengthened beyond the guidelines of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ▲Management of high-risk groups and a 1:1 dedicated system through administrative orders ▲Strengthening expert networks such as the Infectious Disease Support Group ▲Thorough epidemiological investigations and contact tracing and management.
