Thinkware Launches Three Models of 'iVolt' Black Box Auxiliary Batteries
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Thinkware announced on the 29th that it will launch three new dedicated black box auxiliary batteries, the iVolt BAB-55, BAB-105, and BAB-115.
All three new products use lithium iron phosphate. Compared to existing lithium-ion and nickel-based batteries, they offer more than three times longer lifespan as well as excellent safety against fire and explosion.
They are equipped with Battery Management System (BMS) 2.0 for stable long-term use. Through a microcontroller, charging current, voltage, and voltage balance among the built-in cells are regulated to enable stable battery usage.
An intelligent battery sensor is also installed, which considers voltage, current, and temperature to determine the appropriate charging amount and stops the generator accordingly for efficient use.
LED status indicators reflect operating conditions, and a high-temperature protection auto cutoff is applied to protect the connected black box by automatically shutting off power if the battery temperature rises above 80 degrees during charging. Expansion functionality through parallel connection is also supported when using two or more batteries.
The iVolt BAB-55 has a battery capacity of 4500mAh. In fast charging mode, it can be used for up to 15 hours after 40 minutes of charging.
The iVolt BAB-105 and BAB-115 have a battery capacity of 10,200mAh. In fast charging mode, they can be used for up to 33 hours after 75 minutes of charging.
The iVolt BAB-115 supports Bluetooth communication connection and can be linked to the iVolt app via a separate smartphone app for real-time sharing of battery information. The app can be downloaded separately for connection and use, allowing users to check battery charge capacity, input/output voltage, temperature, and remaining discharge time in real time through their smartphones.
