This learning coaching was implemented because, with the phased online school openings due to COVID-19, diagnostic evaluations by school were not conducted, and it was judged that following the existing procedures for learning coaching might delay the support timing.
This year's learning coaching selects 56 students who continuously need learning coaching among the existing target students but face difficulties such as lack of online class equipment and care challenges, providing learning counseling and instruction in reading, writing, and arithmetic to prevent learning delays.
Some in-person guidance will be conducted strictly following quarantine and hygiene measures such as wearing masks, hand sanitizing, temperature checks, and maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in basic academic skills.

Director Lee Gil-hoon said, "The Suncheon Office of Education believes that management of students with basic academic difficulties who experience learning challenges during the stabilization of remote classes must continue. We started learning coaching by finding ways to support even before school reopening, and we think we need to pay more attention to students who need support with the mindset of not giving up on any child."
