Gyeongnam Sacheon-si to Invest 48 Billion KRW by 2022 in Developing 'Sacheon West General Industrial Complex'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 28th that it has finalized the development plan for the Sacheon Western General Industrial Complex, which will serve as a foundation for balanced development in the western Gyeongnam region.
The Sacheon Western Industrial Complex, developed through public development, will be established on 313,617㎡ in the areas of Maeksa and Seojeong-ri, Gonyang-myeon.
Over three years until 2022, 48 billion KRW will be invested to build industrial facility sites, and it will be developed through four projects: logistics and transportation, diversification and strengthening of the regional industrial base, and coexistence of regional industrial complexes.
The city plans to leverage the metropolitan transportation network system, including Namhae Expressway and Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway, to capitalize on regional logistics and transportation strengths, and realize a diverse industrial structure through the agglomeration of industrial facilities beyond the main local industries.
The targeted industries include rubber products and plastics manufacturing, non-metallic mineral manufacturing, metal processing parts manufacturing, other machinery and equipment manufacturing, and automobile and trailer manufacturing.
The city plans to obtain industrial complex plan approval as soon as possible, complete various administrative procedures such as land compensation negotiations by the end of the year, and begin construction early next year.
Upon completion of the Sacheon Western Industrial Complex, the city expects an annual production effect of 526 billion KRW and direct employment of about 1,200 people.
