Geoje City Provides 500,000 KRW Living Expense Support to Corporate Taxi Drivers Affected by COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 27th that it will provide emergency living expenses to help corporate taxi companies and drivers who are struggling due to a decrease in passengers caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Using 152 million KRW of city funds, the city will provide emergency living expenses of 500,000 KRW each in May to 304 taxi drivers working at four local corporate taxi companies.

While individual taxi drivers are eligible for the small business emergency living expense support provided by the city, corporate taxi workers are not self-employed and thus have difficulty receiving support. Considering this, the city explained that it has separately allocated emergency living expenses.
