Jeonbuk Province Resumes Operation of 240 Outdoor and Distributed Public Facilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Tae-in] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 27th that it will resume the operation of 240 outdoor and dispersed public facilities, including outdoor sports facilities and natural recreation forests within the province, as high-intensity social distancing measures for COVID-19 prevention have been relaxed to social distancing, and the number of confirmed infectious disease cases has recently remained around 10.
This measure is intended to help residents, who have been exhausted by COVID-19, to strengthen their body and mind at outdoor sports facilities such as tennis courts and soccer fields, and to provide children, who have mostly spent time at home, with outdoor activities to relieve accumulated fatigue.
Jeonbuk Province plans to resume operations by today for 219 of the total 240 facilities (208 outdoor sports facilities, 13 cultural and tourism facilities, and 19 natural recreation forests, etc.) that are directly or consigned managed by the province and city/counties, and to gradually resume operations for the remaining facilities by the 6th of next month.
The facilities to be reopened this time include low-risk outdoor and dispersed sports facilities such as soccer fields, baseball fields, and tennis courts located in sports parks within each city and county, such as Jeonju World Cup Stadium and Deokjin Fitness Park.
In addition, natural recreation forests such as Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest, which is operated directly by the province, outdoor landscaping facilities such as arboretums, and outdoor restrooms will also resume operation, while accommodation facilities within these facilities will remain closed for the time being.
Jeonbuk Province plans to gradually resume operations of public facilities that have been closed, considering the risk of local infection spread and preparations for daily quarantine every two weeks, in accordance with the government's policy to determine the level of social distancing.
For dispersed and mobile facilities such as art galleries and museums, as well as dense and seated facilities such as libraries and indoor sports facilities, the decision to resume operations will be made according to the level of social distancing set by the government policy.
