Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Foundation Supports Artists Affected by COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongnam Province and the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Promotion Agency announced on the 27th that they will support artists affected by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
They will prioritize the 'Art Group Loss Compensation Support Project' for art groups that have suffered direct losses due to COVID-19, and also compensate for damages such as printing materials, stage equipment, and advance contract payments caused by postponement or cancellation of cultural and artistic events.
The support targets and scope will be decided by a separately formed Loss Compensation Deliberation Committee, and the most urgent rent support will be promoted after securing a separate project budget.
They also plan to proceed with the Gyeongnam Artist Creative Fund Loan Support Project, which provides loans for funds needed for artistic activities such as creative spaces and material costs, and compensates for the interest rate difference. The loan limit is 50 million KRW with interest difference compensation (2.5%).
The agency plans the Creative Activity Preparation Fund Support Project, which provides 2 million KRW each to 200 artists for preparing creative activities, and aims to complete the first round of support within next month.
