On the 27th, Im appeared on Gwangju MBC radio's "Hwang Dong-hyun's Focus" and said, "As a defendant, he is so unfaithful to the trial and does not fulfill his responsibilities and duties, which I think makes the public, including myself, very frustrated."
Earlier, Im had revealed footage of former President Jeon playing golf at a golf course and holding a lavish luncheon commemorating the December 12 coup. Im explained the reason for the disclosure at the time, saying, "My anger toward Jeon, who does not reflect, was the greatest. He ruled as a dictator for a long time, causing tremendous harm to many people, but he never apologized or reflected, so I hoped for punishment and condemnation."
He also said, "This year marks the 40th anniversary of the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement, and Jeon, the main culprit and person responsible, is 90 years old this year," adding, "Considering his advanced age, if Jeon dies, there will be no one to hold him accountable, so we must diligently speed up the truth-finding process within this year."
Im emphasized that the punishment of former President Jeon and the recovery of his assets must be completed within this year. He said, "When Jeon was held responsible for the order to fire, he actively defended himself and claimed he was not responsible. But after seizing state power through the December 12 coup, who else but Jeon would have given the order to fire?"
He continued, "The reason Jeon and his group can still live in luxury without reflecting is because of the assets they have hidden," and said, "Our society must make efforts to recover every last 10 won."
Regarding the tax collection on former President Jeon, Im also stressed, "Jeon has a large amount of unpaid taxes and lives a luxurious life, so he should be immediately detained until he pays his taxes, and efforts should be made to seize things like the license plates of his luxury limousine."
