China Dispatches Medical Team to Consult on Kim Jong-un's Health Condition
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] China is reported to have dispatched a delegation, including medical experts, to North Korea to provide advice on the health condition of Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea.
According to foreign media on the 25th, the delegation, led by a senior official from the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, which handles North Korea issues, departed Beijing on the 23rd and headed to North Korea. The foreign media cited two anonymous sources familiar with the matter. They analyzed that the visit of Chinese medical personnel and officials to Pyongyang was prompted by conflicting reports regarding Chairman Kim's health condition.
On the 20th, the North Korea specialist media Daily NK reported, "Chairman Kim underwent cardiovascular surgery on the 12th at the Hyangsan Clinic in the Myohyangsan area of North Pyongan Province and is currently receiving treatment at the Hyangsan Special Residence." On the same day, the US CNN also reported, citing US government officials, that "the US government obtained information that Chairman Kim is in serious danger following surgery, and US intelligence agencies are monitoring the situation."
However, the South Korean government later denied the rumors about Chairman Kim's health, stating "there are no unusual developments," and US President Donald Trump also said on the 23rd, "I consider CNN's report to be inaccurate and false."

President Trump said, "I heard they (CNN) wrote about old documents," and "that report is also said to be inaccurate." This can be interpreted as indicating that CNN reported on Kim Jong-un's past condition, while US intelligence agencies have confirmed the latest situation that there are no issues with Chairman Kim's health.
