On the 24th, Dongdaemun-gu and eight young small business owners operating in the food service industry at Youth Mall signed a business agreement regarding the lunchbox support project for vulnerable groups. From the 27th, these young small business owners will prepare healthy lunchboxes and provide delivery services to vulnerable groups.
The district held a public contest from April 1 to 6 targeting young small business owners in the food service sector aged 19 to 39 in Dongdaemun-gu, selecting a total of eight young small business owner companies to participate in the project.
The selected young small business owners will prepare home-style lunchboxes made with healthy ingredients and deliver them to the doorsteps of 210 recipients, including basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, and elderly living alone, three times a week, totaling 27 times per person until June 30.
For the project, the district will support young small business owners with 10,000 KRW per meal (including delivery fees). Through this, it is expected that young small business owners will receive economic assistance, and vulnerable groups will minimize meal gaps.
The young small business owners participating in the lunchbox delivery project with good intentions during these difficult times said, “We feel greater fulfillment in being able to serve delicious and healthy food to vulnerable groups such as the elderly in the community,” and added, “Although the reality is tough, being able to participate in a project that conveys our hearts makes the world still worth living in.”
