Duso Food Donates 10,000 'Drinking Porridge' to Medical Staff at Seoul Medical Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Doson Food Co., Ltd., a convenience food manufacturer, is joining the donation campaign to support medical staff who are working hard on the frontlines in response to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that on the 24th at 1 PM, a donation ceremony will be held at the Seoul City Hall Citizen Health Bureau Director's Office, where Doson Food will donate 10,000 units of "Drinking Porridge" worth 15 million KRW. These porridges, contained in tube-type packaging, will be delivered to the medical staff and volunteers at Seoul Medical Center.
Doson Food, headquartered in Jeongeup, Jeonbuk, is a social enterprise employing vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities. While using local agricultural products to open sales channels for farmers, it also leads a virtuous cycle by returning part of its profits to rural communities and socially disadvantaged groups.
Koo Sung-kyu, CEO of Doson Food, expressed his intention of sharing, saying, "We have prepared a small token of appreciation for the medical volunteers who dedicate themselves day and night," and added, "We hope this will provide some strength amid the accumulated fatigue of medical staff due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation."
