Gwangjuho Lake Ecological Park and Uchi Park Zoo Reopen from the 24th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangjuho Lake Ecological Park and Uchi Park Zoo, which were temporarily closed for about two months due to the implementation of social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, will reopen.
The Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 23rd that according to the eased social distancing measures decided by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 19th, the Lake Ecological Park will open from 9 a.m. on the 24th.
Uchi Park Zoo plans to open on the 6th of next month, when social distancing ends, anticipating a concentration of citizens on ‘Labor Day’ and ‘Children’s Day’ on the 1st of next month.
In particular, before opening the Lake Ecological Park, disinfection work will be carried out in multi-use areas such as restrooms and pergolas, and the main entrance will be limited to one location where visitors’ temperatures will be measured and only those wearing masks will be allowed entry. Visitors with confirmed fever will be promptly transferred to the Buk-gu Public Health Center for appropriate measures.
Additionally, a promotional booth will be operated at the main entrance to help visitors follow preventive guidelines, and guides will be stationed inside the Lake Ecological Park.
The Gwangju Citizen’s Forest Campground and Sajik Park Observation Tower will seek to resume operations in accordance with government policies if the ‘everyday social distancing’ phase begins after the 6th of next month.
