Gangbuk-gu Operates Safe Accommodation for Families of Self-Quarantined Individuals
Safe accommodations, hotels near the 4·19 Democratic Cemetery, and youth training centers around Bukhansan... Available at 50% discounted rates from regular prices
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Park Gyeom-su) has been operating the "Gangbuk Family Safe Accommodation" since the 16th to prevent secondary infections between self-quarantined individuals and their families.
The safe accommodation is a temporary residence where family members of those under quarantine can stay separately while the quarantined individuals remain at home. It has been set up at the "Rich Diamond Hotel" and the "Bongdo Youth Training Center."
The district signed agreements with these facilities and set the accommodation fees at a 50% discounted rate.
Users can choose their preferred accommodation. The hotel is conveniently located near the Ui-Sinseol Light Rail Line 4·19 Democracy Cemetery Station, offering excellent transportation and well-equipped amenities. A notable advantage is that breakfast and lunch room service are available at about 60% cheaper than the regular price.
On the other hand, the training center is located at the foot of Bukhansan Mountain, providing fresh air and helping to restore mental and physical stability. Nearby is the Ui-dong Forest Village, where visitors can enjoy various traditional foods in a natural setting.
Those wishing to use the service can apply by phone to the Gangbuk-gu Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (☎901-5904, 5874). Confirmed eligible individuals must bring identification cards and either a resident registration certificate or a family relationship certificate for all occupants upon check-in.
The stay period is 14 days, corresponding to the quarantine period of the self-quarantined individual, and families of overseas entrants can enter from the day before the quarantine period starts.
The district provides disinfection supplies free of charge to the safe accommodations and conducts regular disinfection activities. It is also expected to help local lodging businesses struggling due to the prolonged infectious disease situation.
