Gwangju City, Postpaid Transportation Cards for Youth Available Nationwide from the 27th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that starting from the 27th, adolescents aged 12 to 18 will be able to conveniently use postpaid transportation cards to ride buses and subways anywhere nationwide as the system is improved.
Until now, adolescents could only use prepaid transportation cards when using public transportation, causing inconvenience as they had to recharge when the balance was insufficient. However, following the enforcement of the Specialized Credit Finance Business Act Enforcement Decree by financial authorities (March 3, 2020), adolescents can now be issued postpaid transportation cards.
Accordingly, Gwangju City has upgraded all city bus card terminal systems by last month to recognize adolescent postpaid transportation cards.
Adolescents can visit banks or card companies nationwide to newly issue postpaid transportation cards and use buses and subways with the existing adolescent fare (child/adolescent) discounts applied.
