Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member Kim Yong-ho Proposes 'Ordinance for Promoting Growth and Strengthening Competitiveness of Mid-sized Enterprises'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Kim Yongho, a member of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly, announced on the 22nd that he has taken the lead in proposing the "Ordinance on Promoting the Growth and Strengthening the Competitiveness of Mid-sized Enterprises in Jeollanam-do."
The main contents of the proposed ordinance include measures to support mid-sized enterprises by enhancing innovation capabilities, expanding overseas advancement, and securing professional manpower.
Accordingly, it is expected that mid-sized enterprises in the province will grow into global companies, contribute to the establishment of a virtuous cycle corporate ecosystem in the region, and revitalize the local economy.
Furthermore, the ordinance provides a basis to support the formation and operation of cooperative systems to build win-win relationships among mid-sized enterprises and to support industry-academia cooperation.
Assemblyman Kim Yongho pointed out, "Currently, there are 92 mid-sized enterprises in Jeollanam-do, accounting for only 2% nationwide, and despite the existence of a special law on promoting the growth and strengthening the competitiveness of mid-sized enterprises, there have been few support measures at the provincial level."
He added, "Now is the time to seek systematic support plans and establish an institutional foundation for strengthening the competitiveness of mid-sized enterprises and the corporate ecosystem in the province, which is why I proposed this ordinance."
