Seodaemun-gu, Training Village Bus Drivers and Connecting to Employment
If Selected as a Trainee, Participate in 80 Hours of Residential Training and 60 Hours of Field Training
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is recruiting trainees for the ‘Village Bus Driver Training Course’ to facilitate the supply of village bus drivers and support jobs for young and middle-aged adults.
The target applicants are residents of Seodaemun-gu and Eunpyeong-gu aged between 26 and 61 who hold a Class 1 Large Vehicle License and a bus driver qualification.
The number of recruits is 25.
Applicants must visit the Job and Economy Division on the 5th floor of Seodaemun-gu Office by the 6th of next month to submit the application form, driving career certificate, driving aptitude test suitability report, a copy of the Class 1 Large Vehicle License, and a copy of the bus driver qualification certificate. The application form can be downloaded from the notices section on the Seodaemun-gu website.
Selected trainees will be chosen through a first-round document screening and a second-round interview, and will receive a total of 80 hours of residential training over ten days from May 18 to May 29 at the Transportation Safety Experience Education Center in Sangju, Gyeongbuk.
Following this, from June 8, trainees will participate in on-site training for 4 hours a day over 15 days at village bus companies.
The training is free of charge, and round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses to Sangju will be supported. The ‘Seoul Village Bus Transportation Business Association’ will connect course graduates with employment opportunities at village bus companies.
Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, “We expect this training program to create jobs for young and middle-aged adults and improve public transportation services.”

Seodaemun-gu was selected last year and this year in succession for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s ‘Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project’ and is promoting this project jointly with the Seoul Village Bus Transportation Business Association and Eunpyeong-gu.
