Road Traffic Authority Suspends Saturday Special Duty at License Test Centers in May... 'Reservation System' Resumes from June
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The 'Saturday Special Duty' at driver's license examination centers, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be partially resumed starting in June.
The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 22nd that Saturday Special Duty will be suspended until next month, and from June, it will be conducted under a 'full reservation system by visit time.'
Until now, the Authority has operated license tests and civil service tasks once a month on Saturdays at 19 driver's license examination centers nationwide to accommodate customers who find it difficult to visit on weekdays. However, due to the spread of COVID-19, the Saturday Special Duty, which sees a higher density of visitors compared to weekdays, was temporarily suspended through May following March and April.
Starting in June, Saturday Special Duty will be conducted under a 'full reservation system by visit time,' where visitors must reserve their visit time online or by phone before coming. License tests and civil services such as aptitude tests will be handled. The duty day is June 13, and reservations can be made by selecting the desired examination center and time on the Korea Road Traffic Authority's 'Safe Driving Integrated Civil Service' website or by calling the customer support center at 1577-1120.
Services available for reservation include Class 1 driver's license aptitude tests, Class 2 renewals, and reissuance. Other services such as international license issuance and foreign or military license exchanges must be done on weekdays.
