[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 22nd that it has added Daejeon City and Chungcheongbuk-do to the 'Cheer Up Korea' special exhibition to further strengthen cooperation with local communities.
'Cheer Up Korea' is a special exhibition for regional coexistence, where Coupang directly purchases products from small business owners and agricultural and livestock producers who have lost sales channels due to the economic downturn caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). In addition to direct purchases, marketing support including advertising on the main homepage is provided to directly help increase sales of businesses in the respective regions.
Coupang plans to showcase about 800 products from newly added Daejeon and Chungbuk local businesses through Rocket Delivery, and regional specialties will be available through Rocket Fresh to be delivered the next morning for breakfast. Representative products include Chungbuk Cheongwon Saengmyeong rice, Jecheon Donmaru Korean pork belly, and Olgae chicken breast and chicken thigh meat. In addition, products such as plate sets sold by small business owners in Daejeon and Chungbuk can also be purchased.
