View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 22nd that it will install ‘LG PuriCare Large Air Purifiers’ in all stations of the Daejeon Metro operated by Daejeon Metropolitan Express Transit Corporation by the end of this month.
LG Electronics will install 421 large air purifiers and 30 central controllers for air purifiers called ‘AC Smart 5’ on the platforms and concourses of 22 stations of the Daejeon Metro.
Both the large air purifiers and the central controllers supplied by LG Electronics this time are new products released this year. The large air purifiers are linked with the central controllers. They also apply flame-retardant materials that are not easily ignited and enhance installation stability by allowing fixation to walls and floors, reflecting the usage conditions of the subway.
The large air purifiers can purify indoor air in spaces of 158 square meters (m2), making them suitable for use in public and commercial facilities such as schools, offices, hospitals, restaurants, and cafes. They have also received CA (Clean Air) certification from the Korea Air Cleaning Association. Additionally, they intake polluted air from the bottom and discharge clean air from the top, and since this process all occurs at the front of the product, it is also effective for air circulation.
LG Electronics applied the ‘6-Step Total Care Plus’ system to this product. This system uses ▲a ‘Large Dust Filter’ that filters large dust particles ▲a ‘Total Allergy Dust Collection Plus Filter’ that removes allergens and ultrafine dust ▲a ‘Total Harmful Gas Filter’ that removes smog-causing substances such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide, new house syndrome substances such as toluene and formaldehyde, as well as everyday odors.
The central controller AC Smart 5 is linked with the air purifiers. It can control and monitor up to 62 air purifiers installed within the stations. Also, when linked with air quality measuring equipment that measures fine dust concentration, it can set the operating mode of the air purifiers and the wind strength according to the situation.
