The author, Professor Kim, depicts reflections and memories of middle-aged life through a long 2,500 km bicycle journey from Switzerland and France to the Santiago pilgrimage route in Spain in this travel essay.
In this book, Professor Kim, who completed the Ironman triathlon (swimming 3.8 km, cycling 180.2 km, running 42.195 km), shares his experiences of physical and mental struggles during a solo month-long bicycle trip, discussing the middle-aged anguish, hope, and love he realized.
Especially, he conveys stories about the world to readers and stories of love to his family by using various formats such as first-person protagonist perspective, letters, and dialogues, emphasizing that travel allows one to gain knowledge about the world and discover oneself.
