Gyeonggi Office of Education Postpones Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exams to the 23rd of Next Month
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has postponed the 2020 1st Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Exam from the 9th to the 23rd of next month.
On the 20th, the Gyeonggi Office of Education announced that the exam schedule was adjusted to prevent the spread of COVID-19 cluster infections, protect the health of test takers and the public, and consider the advancement schedule of elementary and middle school equivalency exam passers to higher schools.
The Gyeonggi Office of Education will provide information about the exam on its website today and notify individuals via text messages.
The exam locations and test taker guidelines will be announced on June 8th, and the list of successful candidates will be published on June 16th on the Gyeonggi Office of Education website.
Choi Hee-sook, Director of Lifelong Education and Welfare Division at the Gyeonggi Office of Education, emphasized, "The additional postponement of the 1st equivalency exam to May 23rd is a decision made with the safety and health of the public in mind," adding, "The Gyeonggi Office of Education will do its best to prepare quarantine measures before administering the 1st equivalency exam."
