Hana Bank, "Overseas Remittance 'Hana EZ' App Now Available for Domestic Users"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Hana Bank announced on the 20th that it has made the overseas remittance application (app) 'Hana EZ,' which was previously exclusive to foreigners, available for domestic users as well.
Hana Bank explained that this service expansion focuses on non-face-to-face transactions. Through mobile, users can register as designated foreign exchange banks and submit proof of enrollment documents, enabling international students to remit money without visiting a branch. Additionally, once a remittance is made, users can simply enter the amount to send again immediately, enhancing convenience.
The bank plans to provide differentiated overseas remittance services by introducing big data and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. Starting today, it will be the first in Korea to implement a remittance expected processing time notification service through algorithms that consider the remittance processing steps, public holidays, and time differences of the recipient country. Also, by entering only the European region account number or country-specific bank code, the recipient bank information is automatically found, significantly reducing the fields customers need to fill in.
Moreover, tuition payment services for major universities worldwide can be used non-face-to-face through Hana EZ, which is expected to ease the burden on parents of international students during periods of rapid exchange rate fluctuations.
