The district has designated 10 establishments such as restaurants and cafes located within Dangsan-gol as ‘Mideum Stores’ to offer safe food to consumers and promote increased income for sellers.
This is a resident-led safe food brand where local resident supporters, who know the area best, assist in all aspects of business including selecting the ‘Mideum Stores,’ promotion, and managing products for sale.
The ‘Mideum Stores,’ selected by residents and certified by the district, are model businesses that comply with ▲all staff wearing masks ▲daily disinfection and sanitation ▲use of fresh ingredients, and also share store secrets such as main menu and side dish recipes.
Additionally, to actively respond to the COVID-19 situation, a walking through method minimizing contact between sellers and buyers has been introduced, including advance phone orders and Zero Pay payments.
Along with this, the creation of a Mideum Store map has enhanced consumer convenience, and support has been provided for installing signboards and supplying hand sanitizers.
The ‘Mideum Store’ program operates until May 9, and from 5 PM to 8 PM, Mideum Store maps and biodegradable plastic bags are distributed in front of Exit 5 of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station, allowing convenient packaging of Mideum Store food.
On the first day of the launch, the 17th, Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il toured the ‘Mideum Stores’ and purchased food directly. He also listened to the difficulties faced by sellers due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and promised to do his best to prepare support measures for small business owners.
The district expects that through the resident-led operation of the ‘Dangsan-gol Mideum Store,’ the alleys will become more vibrant.
