Accordingly, the Office of Education plans to prepare eco-friendly agricultural product packages consisting of grains, vegetables, fruits, etc., produced in Jeonnam, worth 40,000 KRW per student (24,000 KRW for kindergarten students) for 190,000 students in elementary, middle, high, and special schools in the province, and deliver them to each home by the 30th of this month.
The Office of Education and Jeonnam Province plan to urgently execute a total of 8.3 billion KRW on a temporary basis by the end of this month, and will consider additional supply support if online classes continue due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
This eco-friendly agricultural product family package support project is expected to help eco-friendly agricultural producers and suppliers and contribute to improving students' health by providing healthy food.
Although this project is temporary, it is being evaluated as a hopeful alternative for school meals in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
