Finally... Daegu City Ends COVID-19 Briefing After 62 Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] Daegu City ended its regular briefing on the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) on the 19th.
The city held its first briefing on February 18th after the first COVID-19 patient was confirmed in Daegu, and has been communicating the response situation to the media and citizens without rest, even on holidays.
As the number of COVID-19 patients in Daegu has recently decreased and the situation has somewhat stabilized, the city decided to end the briefings.
Looking at the recent number of new confirmed cases in Daegu, it recorded zero for the first time on the 10th, followed by 7 on the 11th, 2 on the 12th, 3 on the 13th, 3 on the 14th, 1 on the 15th, 4 on the 16th, 0 on the 17th, 3 on the 18th, and 2 on the 19th, showing a clear trend of stabilization. The recovery rate also reached 85.4% as of midnight on that day, with 5,835 patients fully recovered.
The city will continue to distribute statistical data related to COVID-19 response.

The intergovernmental support team that had been stationed at Daegu City Hall also ceased operations on the 19th. Daegu City announced that a Daegu-Gyeongbuk support team will be separately operated within the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
